Two different worlds: One is a nightmarish hell, a rusted industrial wasteland which many would
consider to be Hell itself; and the other - an abandoned town, possessing physically altered durability. Blocked-off streets.

Key to Endings
Bad Ending: You don't save
Cybil or Kaufmann. The first time you finish the game you get the Rock Drill, Chainsaw, and Gascan no matter what ending you
got.
Bad+ Ending: You save Cybil, but leave Kaufmann to die.
Good Ending: You save Kaufmann,
but kill Cybil.
Good+ Ending: You save Kaufmann and Cybil. This gives you the Channeling Stone
U.F.O.
Ending: If you use the Channeling Stone in five selected areas, you get this secret ending. This gives you the Hyper Blaster.
The Secret Weapons
Chainsaw: This is one of
the best (and coolest) weapons in the game. Powerful, messy, and fun. Obtained by finishing the game once. It is found in
the broken window of the Cut-Rite Chainsaw store near the Church.
Rock Drill: Comes with Chainsaw, but you have
to choose one or the other until you beat the game again. This isn't as much fun as the Chainsaw, and is more difficult to
use. It is found on the lower level of the Drawbridge Control Tower. It is effective against nurses as it pushes them away
before they can slash you.
Katana: Very difficult to use, but quite deadly once mastered. This appears randomly
after you beat the game. If you see it on the tally screen you've gotten it. It is in the Doghouse on Levin St., in the door
that was locked the first time through. Works extremely well on nurses and doctors.
Hyper Blaster: Not too
powerful, but it locks onto enemies until they're dead. You get this from the U.F.O. Ending. This is automatically in your
inventory after you get the U.F.O. Ending.
Secret Items
Gasoline Can: Obtained after
you finish the game once. Use this to power the Rock Drill or Chainsaw. It is found in the Gas Station next to the Church.
Channeling
Stone: You receive this with a GOOD+ Ending. Use it in five selected areas to get the U.F.O. Ending. It is found on the
counter in the Convenience Store in the Next Fear after you beat the game with a Good+ Ending. See below for the correct places
to use it at.
Locations to use the Channeling Stone 1. On the roof of the nightmare school. 2. Just outside
the hospital doors before you fight the Giant Moth Boss. 3. At Norman's Motel, in the parking lot outside the apartments. 4.
Inside the boat before you go to the lighthouse. 5. On top of the lighthouse.
*Note that everytime you use the Channeling
Stone you will be outside at night time.
Other Secrets
Extra Options Menu: Enter the
options screen from the Main menu or Item screen and press any of the 4 trigger buttons (L1, R1, L2, R2). This will enable
the "extra options" menu. After playing through the game once, you get a few new options: Bullet Adjust allows you to receive
more bullets every time you pick up a box. The more times you beat the game, the more bullets you can get. The view options
will give you the "Self-view" option, where the camera will always be directly behind Harry's head.
Boss Cheat:
If you don't want to face the final boss (Alessa/Samael) there's a nifty trick you can do. Before you go downstairs to
confront the boss, waste all of your ammo. Empty the Handgun, Shotgun, and the Rifle. When you fight the boss, it will attack
a few times then die on its own. Simple. WARNING! I have received mail informing me that this trick won't work if you have
the hyperblaster - which has unlimited ammo. So use caution.

Extra options
At the options screen, press L1 + R1 to display an extra options menu with blood color, map zoom, and
other selections.
Completion bonuses
Successfully complete the game. Start another game and enter the extra options menu to access new features.
A "Bullet Adjust" option can be set, allowing the normal amount of ammunition found at a location to
be doubled or tripled.
A "Noise Effect" option can be toggled.
Another new option can be toggled, allowing scenes to be viewed without distortion.
Additional puzzle difficulty
Successfully complete the game on the easy, normal, and hard puzzle difficulty settings. Select the
hard puzzle difficulty again and begin a new game to have a new combination of puzzles.
Reveal signs
Unlock all five endings, then start a new game. All signs will now be revealed.
Chain saw
Successfully complete the game on the normal difficulty and normal puzzle difficulty settings. Start
a new game to find a chain saw among logs before the cemetery.
Hyper Spray
Successfully complete the game two times. Start a new game to find the Hyper Spray on the south side
of the motor home.
Book Of Lost Memories
Successfully complete the game. Start a new game and look for the newspaper stand near the Texxon Gas
Station. The Book Of Lost Memories can be found inside.
Dog Key
Successfully complete the game with the "Rebirth" ending. Start a new game and a dog house will now
appear near Jack's Inn. Look inside the dog house to find the Dog Key.
Obsidian Goblet
Successfully complete the game. Start a new game and enter the Historical Society building. The Obsidian
Goblet can be found on a shelf.
White Chrism
Successfully complete the game. Start a new game to find White Chrism vial in the kitchen of apartment
105 in Blue Creek Apartments.
Introduction FMV sequence audio
If you wait at the title screen for awhile, the introduction FMV sequence will begin. In some scenes,
there will be no audio. Successfully complete the game one time and the audio will be restored to those scenes.
Hidden skulls in picture
Go to room 307 in "Wood Side Apartments". On the third floor is a picture on the wall. Press X and
the message "There's a painting hanging on the wall. It looks like a landscape of this area." will appear. Look at the picture
to see two skulls on the side of the mountains.
Innocent Man riddle
One of the rooms you will enter in the Labyrinth will include six men that have been hung by the ceiling.
Your job is to free the innocent man in the group. In easy riddle mode, the innocent man will always be, "The Kidnapper".
In normal riddle mode, the innocent man will always be, "The Arsonist". In hard riddle mode, the innocent man will always
be ,"The Counterfeiter". Once you find out who the innocent man is, pull the corresponding empty noose in the second room
to release the body. In his place, the Key Of The Persecuted will be on the floor below.
Box combination
When you get almost to the end of the hospital area and go down in the elevator, you will get a call
on the radio. It is game show which will ask three questions. You must go to the third floor storeroom to get your prize.
The combination to the box is 3 1 3. Note: This is for the easy and normal difficulty setting.
Defeating Eddie
In the first battle, equip your rifle and as soon as you get the chance, shoot him four times. He will
run away. Follow him into the next room. Get far away from him and just keep shooting until he dies. If he gets in close,
run away and shoot him. If done correctly, he should be locked in between shots and you will not
get hit.

(1) +++ CONTROLS +++
Directional Buttons / Left analogue stick: Controls movement forwards and
also rotates James left and right. Hold the "Square button" during movement
to run.
Select Button: Pauses the game.
Start Button: Access the item screen.
L1: Strafe left.
R1: Strafe right.
R2: Press and hold down to draw your weapon. Use the left analogue stick or
directional buttons to aim in the direction of a monster and press "X" to
attack.
L1 & R1: Fast 180 degree turn.
L2 & Right analogue stick: Hold down the L2 button and use the right
analogue stick to look around in the desired direction.
Triangle: View map in map window. When finished viewing the map, press the
Triangle button again to return to the game.
X: Attack (While hold down the R2 button) / Search / Confirm selection
Square: Press and hold down to run / Cancel selection
Circle: Turns the flashlight on / off
Soft Reset: Press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select + Start buttons simultaneously
to soft reset the game and return to the title screen.
NOTE: The controller settings can be customized in the OPTIONS menu.
(2) +++ STARTING THE GAME +++
NOTE: To unlock Extra Hard puzzle mode you must complete the game on HARD
puzzle mode and HARD action mode.
Turn around and go out of the door on the left. Pick up the map in the car
outside, run left and then go down the stairs. Follow the path until you
come to a well, look in it to find the first save point. Carry on until you
come to a big gate. Walk forward and an animation will start with Angela.
Walk forward again until you come to a church, then turn right and go
through the gate. Carry on walking until you come to another big gate,
follow the long path past 2 cars and keep going. You'll eventually get to a
metal fence, turn left and go down the small alleyway and through a grated
gate. Keep going along another long pathway. When you get to the main road
"Lindsey St.", turn right. You'll see a trail of blood on the floor and see
your first monster. Follow the blood until you come to a small alleyway. Go
right and halfway down the alley and go through the gate and pick up 2
health drinks. Save the game if you want, then carry on running down the
alley. You'll come across a boarded up archway, go through to fight your
first monster.
Make your way back to "Lindsey St." and go to the top of "Martin St." Pick
up the apartment gate key from the dead man on the right. Go back to "Katz
St." and turn right, keep going until you get near to the end of the road.
Go in the gate on the right to enter the Blue Creek Apartments.
(3) +++ BLUE CREEK APARTMENT +++
Turn left and pick up the map on the wall, turn around and there will be a
save point. Pick up the health drink near the stairs. Go to the second floor
and into Room 205. Pick up the flashlight. Go to the third floor and when
you get there you'll see some metal bars search button and James will say
"There is a key on the ground, if I streach my arm out I might be able to
reach it". Try and reach it and a small girl called Laura will kick it away.
Go into Room 301 and pick up the Handgun, then go into Room 208. Pick up the
key to Room 202 from the bookshelf which is to the left of the dead body in
the chair (the view will move towards the bookshelf when you walk near it),
then make your way to Room 202. Pick up the clock key from the "Moth Room"
and go back into Room 208. Use the key on the clock to rotate the hands on
the clock to 9:10. Push the clock from the right and go through the new door
behind the clock. Save your game if you need to. Go upstairs to the third
floor.
Go into Room 307 and after the animation go in the cupboard behind you. Pick
up the courtyard key, the exit the room. Pick up the fire escape key near
Room 303 then go down the stairs near Room 305. Pick up the canned juice
outside Room 107, then go through the big double doors to go outside. Turn
left and go back into the apartments through the other double doors. Go back
to the second floor and use the canned juice on the trash chute on the
second floor, between Room 202 and Room 203. Pick up the Coin [Old Man] at
the bottom of the trash chute on the right of the entrance to the
apartments.
Go to the courtyard and pick up the Coin [Snake] from the pram in the
swimming pool with no water. Go to Room 101. When you enter the room go in
the door to the right of the kitchen to see Eddie. Go to the fire escape,
which is to the right, near Room 201, and you'll end up in a new room.
SAFE PUZZLE
EASY/NORMAL: Just use the numbers. (Example 17 >> 18 << 03 >> 16)
HARD: You'll notice the roman numerals V and X in the code, V=5 and X=10, so
if you get the code VV6 >> 5 << 6 >> X1 then answer would be 16, 5, 6, 11
(5+5+6=16, 5, 6, 10+1=11).
EXTRA: The numbers stay the same, but the letters are as follows a=1, b=2,
c=3 etc. Use the number of the letter then add 9 to it. For example for the
code 4 >> h << i >> 7 it would be 4, 17, 18, 7 (4, h=8+9=17, 9+9=18, 7).
Go out of this new room to the second door on the left, (the one with the
Exit sign above it) this will lead to the stairs. Turn left and pick up the
map on the floor. Go into Room 109 and go in the white door, which is next
to a boarded up door. Pick up the Coin [Prisoner] then go to Room 105.
COIN PUZZLE SOLUTION
Easy - Old Man, blank, Snake, blank, Prisoner
Normal - blank, Old man, Prisoner, blank, Snake
Hard - blank, Old Man, blank, Snake, Prisoner
Extra Hard - Old Man, blank, Snake, Prisoner, blank
Pick up the key to the Lyne's House then go into Room 209. Walk across the
balcony to get to Room 208. Pick up the apartment stairway key from the bed.
Use the save point if you need to, then go out of Room 209. Go to the stairs
opposite Room 208 to fight the first boss.
### BOSS: Conehead ###
Shoot him until you hear a siren, then he'll go down the stairs. After the
water has gone down, go down the stairs to the next area.

I have an update (for normal mode) for you with Pyramid Head (Conehead). I
tried shooting him, and burned about 40 rounds of ammo I wasn't happy about
that, and he glazed me once an almost killed me. I tried it again, and you
can simply run away from him for about 2-3 minutes and he will give up and
leave. All you have to do is run straight along the wall to the corner of
the room and turn left. He swings at where you were, and then approaches
where you are. Now run to the end of the room and turn around. He swings at
the corner where you were last, then approaches you again. Run back along
the wall to the other corner and turn right, then run back to the door and
turn around. Repeat for about 2-3 minutes, and the siren goes off and he
leaves.
(4) +++ ROSEWATER PARK +++
Once outside, go down the stairs and walk forward until you get to a big
gate. On your right there'll be a First Aid Kit. Follow the path until you
come to an archway. Go up the stairs on the left to pick up 2 boxes of
Handgun Bullets. Go back down the stairs, carry on running down the path
until you can't go any further. Turn left, walk a bit further, then you'll
meet up with Maria. Carry on walking until you come to some stairs on your
left, go up the stairs and keep going until you get to "Nathan Ave.". Turn
right and make your way to Texxon Gas Station. Pick up the steel pipe from
the front of the car. Now go to Pete's Bowl-O-Rama.
(5) +++ PETE'S BOWL-O-RAMA +++
Go through the door on the left. Now go around the table, then go through
another door on the left. Walk forward, you'll see a quick animation with
Eddie and Laura. Go through the door on the left of the counter, and then
exit the bowling alley.
Go left and you'll see Maria again. She'll say she saw Laura run away, but
she couldn't catch her. Go round the back of the bowling alley and through a
metal gate. Now walk to the top of the small alley and Maria will open a
door for you.
(6) +++ HEAVEN'S NIGHT & PATH TO THE HOSPITAL +++
Go up the stairs, go through the green door on the right. Go through the
door near the "Heavens Night" sign.
Go straight on until you see a car in front of you, then go left and keep
going until you see Laura again. Now enter the Hospital.
(7) +++ BROOKHAVEN HOSPITAL +++
Pick up the map on your right then go into the Reception office. Go through
the other door in the office to the Document Room. Look at the typewriter,
then you'll pick up the "Purple Bull" key. Go to the stairs and go up to the
second floor.
Go into the Women's Locker Room and look at the teddy bear on the desk, then
you'll pick up the bent needle. Open the locker to the right of the desk to
pick up the Shotgun. Go into the Men's Locker Room and search the lab coat
to get the Examination Room key. Go to Examining Room 3 and look at the
typewriter, you'll need to write this code down because it's very important
(the code is random). Go into Room M2 and pick up the "Lapis Eye" key on the
small desk. Go back downstairs to the first floor and go into the
Examination Room. Go through this room to the Doctors Lounge. Look at the
white board to the left of the door opposite the toilets to get the code to
the third floor Patient Wing Hall.
CODE ON THE WHITE BOARD
Easy & Normal: 7335
Hard & Extra Hard: 1328
Head up to the third floor and input the code from the white board into the
double doors on the right. Go into Room S3. Maria will lay on the bed. Pick
up the roof key on the table beside her. Head up to the roof and walk on top
of the blue diary, then walk over to the Elevator Control Room. Conehead
will knock you down into the Special Treatment Room. Make sure you use the
First Aid Kit because you'll be low on health. Go in the second door from
the left and look at the blood on the wall. Write down the code from the
wall (this code will be random) and go into Room S14. Use the code from the
padded room for the number lock on the left, for the keypad on the right use
the number from the carbon paper from Examining Room 3, use the "Purple
Bull" key and the "Lapis Eye" key to open the box. Go into Room S11 if you
need to save, and then go to the Shower Room. Combine the piece of brown
hair and the bent needle and use them on the drain in the middle of the
floor (where the green blood is). Now use the elevator to go to the first
floor. Go into Room C3 if you're low on ammo to pick up some Handgun Bullets
and Shotgun Shells. Go into Room C2 and walk to the end of the room where
you'll see Laura. She'll take you to Examining Room 2 where you have to
fight the boss.
### BOSS: Monkey Men ###
Use your Shotgun when they get close.
(8) +++ EVIL BROOKHAVEN HOSPITAL +++
After the animation come out of the room. There's a save point to your
right. Go through the door on the left, go left to the elevator, and up to
the second floor. Go into Room M6 and pick up the dry cell battery and the
basement key. Return to the elevator, go to the third floor. If you need to
save use the save point in the middle of the stairs. Head downstairs to the
basement and go through the door. Move the shelf and then try to go down the
hole. When you do, Maria will walk into the room. After you've spoken to
Maria, go down the hole and pick up the copper ring on the floor, near the
blood. Return to the elevator, go to the second floor to the Day Room. Open
the locker on the floor to get the lead ring. Return to the elevator and go
to the third floor. Go into the Store Room to open the "Trick or Treat" Box.
It doesn't matter what puzzle mode you're on, the code is the same. First
Question: Select the 3rd button. Second Question: Select the 1st button.
Third Question: Select the 3rd button. Now return to the door to the right
of the elevator and use the lead ring and the copper ring, and then go in
the door. Go down lots of stairs and through the door at the bottom. When
you go round the next corner Conehead will start to chase you.
If you're playing on Hard action level shoot him a few times with the
Handgun then run away until he catches up with you. Repeat this until you
reach the elevator. If you're playing on Easy OR Normal action level just
run to the elevator and Conehead
will never be able to catch you.
Go into the Directors Room and pick up the hospital lobby key off the desk
in front of you as you walk in. Leave the hospital.
(9) +++ EVIL SOUTH VALE SILENT HILL +++
Make you way to "Saul St." and go through the gate at the end of the road.
Use your map to find the letter and the wrench. Pick up the wrench. Run all
the way to the end of "Katz St." past the Blue Creek Apartments. Go through
the door on the right. Go to the Rosewater Park and find the statue, which
is in the circled area on your map. Go around the back of the statue and
press the action button. James will say, "Shall I dig?" Select 'yes'. Use
the wrench on the small box to get the old bronze key. Now go to the Silent
Hill Historical Society.
(10) +++ SILENT HILL HISTORICAL SOCIETY +++
Go through the open double doors, then through the door on your right. Run
down a long hallway and through the door at the end. Go through another door
and then go left. Follow the hallway along and go through the door at the
end of the hallway. Drop down the hole, turn about 90 degrees to your left
and check the wall. James should say "Huh, this is different." Hit the wall
3 times with the metal pipe, the wall should collapse. Go through the new
door and you'll be in the sewers. Turn right and go in the door on the
right. Go through another door on your right and pick up the spiral-writing
key. Your flashlight will go out so use the dry cell battery. Use the keypad
to the right of the door, you'll have to guess the code because it's random.
All you have to do is select 2 or 3 of the brighter buttons and guess until
you get the combination right. Use the spiral-writing key on the door that
is on its side to enter the prison.
(11) +++ TOLUCA PRISON +++
When you get up, pick up the tablet of the "Glutionous Pig" from the table
behind you, then turn around and exit the room. Turn left, pick up the
prison map from the desk near the second set of open doors, then turn around
and go into the door on your left. Turn left and follow the path into the
open shower. Pick up the tablet of "The Seductress" and exit the room. Turn
left and go through the door on your left. Pick up the wax doll from the
open cell and go through the door to your right. Turn left and go through
the second door on your left. Pick up the tablet of "The Oppressor" from the
fourth cell at the end of the room, then go back through the door you came
in. Turn right the go into the door on your left. Walk forward and use all 3
tablets you've picked up, on the scaffold, then turn around and go back to
the door you came in. Pick up the horseshoe. Turn right the go into the door
on your left. Go through the door at the other side, then turn right and go
into the second door on your left. Go through the door on the other side of
the room. Turn left and go through the door on you left and pick up the
lighter and exit the room. Go into the door on your right. When you enter
the room go through the door on the right and pick up the Rifle. Go back to
the corridor and go through the big gate to your right. Combine the
horseshoe, wax doll and the lighter on the hatch on the floor to open it.
Once you've dropped down, turn around and go through the double doors. Go
through the next door and down another hole. Walk into the elevator and
it'll automatically go down. Be sure to pick up the items in all 4 corners
of the elevator. When you reach the bottom you can use the save point. Go
through the door to the left of the save point to enter the Underground
Labyrinth.
(12) +++ UNDERGROUND LABYRINTH +++
Go left until you come to a wall the go right, follow the path until you
come to a ladder, go down it. Go straight on the up the ladder. Now you'll
have to do the face puzzle. I think to way to do it is to get the face with
the yellow eyes right side up facing James, and the face with the red eyes
facing James' left (I think). Now that you've done the puzzle go through the
newly opened hallway. After you've talked to Maria turn back and pick up the
wire cutter near the ladder. Go back to the first door you saw when you
entered the underground labyrinth, which was covered in wires. Use the wire
cutter on it, then go down the ladder. Walk forward then turn right and go
up the ladder. Go left and follow the passage, then go left again and up the
ladder. Go right and you'll see a metal grated floor, go round the gate to
your left and down the ladder. Go left AGAIN and follow the bendy passage
round to find another ladder. Go straight on and you've guessed it, up
another ladder. Go left then go up the ladder. Use the save point, then go
through the door. Walk forward and you'll hear Angela say "No Daddy! Please!
Don't!" and James will go through a door with newspapers on it. Now it's
time to fight another boss.
### BOSS: Door Monster ###
I recommend using the Rifle.
Once you've beaten the boss go out of the room, then through the door on
your right. Follow the corridor along and go through the door on the left.
Now pull the following rope:
ROPE PUZZLE
Easy: The Kidnapper (Middle right).
Normal: The Arsonist (Bottom right).
Hard: The Counterfeiter (First rope near the door).
Extra Hard: The Thief.
Go out the room and turn right. Follow the corridor along and go through the
door on your left. Pick up the key of the persecuted then leave the room. Go
right and follow the corridor along AGAIN and go into the door in front of
you. Use the key of the persecuted on the handcuffs, then go down the
ladder. Pick up the first aid kit and turn right, now you'll be in a
Catacomb. Pick up all the items on the floor, then use the save point on the
gravestone if you want. Go down the hole and run down the LONG hallway until
you come to a door. When you open the door you'll have to fight Eddie.
### BOSS: Eddie ###
In the first room use the Rifle. In the second room use the Shotgun.
After you've beaten Eddie, go through the big double doors opposite where
you entered the boss room. Go right and there'll be a save point on top of a
barrel. Carry on down the wooden slope to the boat.
(13) +++ USE THE BOAT +++
Easy & Normal: Use the left analogue stick to steer the boat towards the
light.
Hard & Extra Hard: Rotate the left analogue stick anti-clockwise to rotate
the boat to the left, then when you're facing the light rotate the left
analogue anti-clockwise and the right analogue stick clockwise AT THE SAME
TIME. This will move the boat forward. Now steer the boat towards the light.
(14) +++ LAKE VIEW HOTEL +++
Once you've got to the light go up the wooden ramp and up 2 lots of stone
steps. At the top go left and pick up the "Little Mermaid" Music Box from
the fountain, then enter the Lake View Hotel.
Pick up the map on your left then go straight on and down the stairs. Go to
the end of the corridor and pick up the can of thinner in the open elevator,
then head back upstairs. Go through the double doors to your left OR right
of the stairs and go in the Lobby. Go into the reception and pick up the key
to Room 312 from the key holder on the wall, then go back into the Lobby. Go
through the double doors on your left, now go to the Restaurant "Lake
Shore." Now walk over to the piano and there'll be a short animation with
Laura. Pick up the "Fish" key from the table with the white tablecloth near
the window, and exit the room. Kill the 2 door monsters that will appear and
if you're low on ammo go into the big grey room (look at your map) to pick
up 3 boxes of Handgun Bullets and one box of Rifle Shells. Now head up to
the second floor.
If you're still low on ammo check the Reading Room for some more. As you
leave check the small cabinet near the window for 2 boxes of Handgun
Bullets. Go into the Cloak Room, pick up the first aid kit, 2 boxes of
Shotgun Shells, 2 boxes of Handgun Bullets, then use the "Fish" key on the
briefcase to get the key to Hotel Room 204. Now make your way to Hotel Room
204. When you enter the room pick up the Employee Elevator Key from the desk
in front of you. Go through the wall to Room 202 and use the can of thinner
on the photo on the bed to get the code for the suitcase which is on the
floor. Input the code from the photo in the suitcase to get the "Cinderella"
Music Box, and then leave the room. Make your way to the elevator (the "E"
on the map) and pick up a health drink and some Rifle Shells. Open the door
to the left of the elevator (the big grey room using the map). When you
enter pick up 2 health drinks from the cleaning trolley, turn around and
there'll be a save point. Go into the elevator and the alarm will sound,
check the button on your right. Before you leave James will say,
"There's something written over the button.
...What's this?
Weight allowance: one person"
Now you'll have to put ALL your items in the white shelf, which is on your
right as you leave the elevator. Now go back into the elevator and go to the
first floor.
Pick up the map on your left, use the map and make your way to the Pantry.
Pick up the "Snow White" Music Box from the shelf left (where James' head is
looking) and then leave the room. Go into the Office and pick the Videotape
and the Can Opener from the safe then leave the office. Go through the blue
door opposite the office, which leads to the stairs, go down to the
basement. Go through the dooron your left to the Boiler Room. Pick up the
Bar Key hanging from the lamp then go into the Kitchen. Pick up the 3 health
drinks and use the Can Opener on the can with no label, near the health
drink on its own. You'll pick up a Light bulb and go into the bar. Use the
Light bulb on the flashlight near the jukebox, and then leave the bar. Make
your way back to the room where you put all your items on the shelf. Pick up
your items from the shelf and go to the Lobby. Put the 3 Music Boxes you've
collected on the big music box in the middle of the room. Put the music
boxes in the following order:
MUSIC BOX PUZZLE
Easy: Put them in any order
Normal: Cinderella on the left, Snow White in the middle, Little Mermaid on
the right.
Hard & Extra Hard: Cinderella on the left, Little Mermaid in the middle,
Snow White on the right.
Pick up the Hotel Stairway Key and then go up the big stairs behind you. Go
left and through the door, then up the stairs. You can now open the grated
door in front of you. Go into Room 312 and use the Videotape on the VCR on
the floor near the T.V. After watching the Videotape go out of the room and
you'll be in the Evil Lake View Hotel.
(15) +++ EVIL LAKE VIEW HOTEL +++
Head to Room 313 to find a save point, and then go downstairs. Go into Room
202. When you come out you'll be teleported to outside Room 219. Pick up the
2 Handgun Bullets from the windowsill, then go to the end of the corridor
and go through the double doors. Go to the elevator that didn't work before
(the "E" on the map) and pick up the 2 ampoules on the small desk, then go
into the elevator and down to the basement.
Go into the bar and Pick up the 5 health drinks and go into the kitchen.
Pick up the 2 Shotgun Shells, 2 Rifle Shells and the first aid kit. Go to
the stairs and you'll see an animation with Angela. After you've spoken to
Angela go out of the door behind you, then up the stairs. Run towards the
screen until the view changes, then go right. You'll see some police tape,
go left for 2 boxes of Rifle Shells, then turn around and follow the hallway
until you come to a door. Follow the grated floor until you come to another
door. Make sure you use the save point, because there's a boss fight coming.
### BOSS: 2x Conehead ###
Easy & Normal: Run around for 5 minutes without pausing and/or going to the
items menu, then shoot one of them ONCE and they'll die.
Hard: Keep shooting them until they die.
Search their bodies to find the Rust-Coloured egg and the Scarlet egg. Use
one egg in each door to unlock them. If you want to save go back now because
there's no more save points from now on. Go through one of the doors, then
go straight on through another door. Walk along the LONG corridor and you'll
hear James and Mary arguing. Just keep running then go into the door at the
end. Turn right and go up the stairs to fight the last boss.
### BOSS: Maria ###
Easy & Normal: Use the Rifle until she dies.
Hard: Use the Rifle at long range and use the Shotgun at short range.
Great Job!!! You've completed Silent Hill 2!!!
(16) +++ ENDINGS LIST +++
Here is a list of how to get all 5 endings. When you get them all it'll say
"Endings Clear 4/4 (+1)" on the Game Result screen.
NOTE: When you select a game to load from your memory card press RIGHT to
see which endings you've watched.
MARIA ending.
* Don't let her get hit by monsters and don't hit her yourself!
* Don't examine Angela's knife,
* Don't examine Mary's picture,
* In the "EVIL LAKE VIEW HOTEL" when you hear Mary and James arguing in the
hallway after you've beaten the two Coneheads, go straight to the door at
the end without letting them finish.
LEAVE ending.
* Get rid of Maria as soon as you get to Room S3 in the "BROOKHAVEN
HOSPITAL"
* Do examine Mary's picture,
* Don't examine Angela's knife,
* Heal yourself as soon as you get hit,
* In the "EVIL LAKE VIEW HOTEL" when you hear Mary and James arguing in the
hallway after you've beaten the two Coneheads, listen to the whole argument
then go through the door.
IN WATER ending.
* Read the diary that is on top of the roof in the hospital.
* In the "EVIL LAKE VIEW HOTEL" listen to the headphones in the Reading
Room.
* In the "EVIL LAKE VIEW HOTEL" when you hear Mary and James arguing in the
hallway after you've beaten the two Coneheads, listen to the whole argument
then go through the door.
REBIRTH ending - You must collect 4 special items which only appear if
you've completed the game at least ONCE. Here's where to find the items you
need:
1. White Chrism - It's in the Blue Creek Apartments in Room 105, on the
kitchen counter on your left.
2. Book of the Lost Memories - Found in a news stand, near the car where you
pick up the metal pipe at the Texxon Gas station.
3. Obisidian Goblet - Found in the second room of the Silent Hill Historical
Society, in a smashed display case in front of you as you walk in.
4. Book of Crimson Ceremony - In the Reading Room in the Evil Lake View
Hotel.
DOG ending.
Use the Dog Key (It's inside a doghouse on "Nathan Ave." beside Jack's Inn)
on the Observation Room door in the "EVIL LAKE VIEW HOTEL" after you've
watched the videotape.
(17) +++ SECRET OPTIONS +++
When you're in the OPTIONS press either L1 or R1 to enter the EXTRA OPTIONS.
In the Extra Options you'll get to choose from the following:
Weapon Control - Normal / Switch
Effect: Trigger - R2 is trigger to weapon mode / R2 turns weapon mode
on/off.
Map - Zoom In / Zoom Out
Effect: The map will either be ALWAYS zoomed in or out.
Blood Colour - Normal / Green / Violet / Black
Effect: Choose the blood colour.
Walk / Run Control - Normal / Reverse
Effect: If you select Reverse you will always run without having to hold the
run button.
View Control - Normal / Switch
Effect: Trigger - R2 is trigger to exermination mode / R2 turns exermination
mode on/off.
After you've completed the game ONCE go to the EXTRA OPTIONS and there'll be
2 more options:
Bullet Adjust - x1 / x2 / x3
Effect: Select x2 and pick up twice the amount of Bullets, select x3 to pick
up 3 times the amount of Bullets.
Noise Effect - On / Off
Effect: Turn the Noise Effect OFF to disable the fuzzy screen effect.
(18) +++ SECRET ITEMS +++
The Chainsaw - Complete the game ONCE and you'll be able to pick it up.
Location: After you've gone out of the graveyard where you see Angela, go
past the green truck and you'll see the Chainsaw on some cut down trees on
your right.
Hyper Spray - Complete the game TWICE and you'll be able to pick it up.
Location: In the Caravan / Trailer on "Saul St." It's on the table to your
right when you walk in.
